Universal dynamical decoupling of multiqubit states from environment

    Get PDF
We study the dynamical decoupling of multiqubit states from environment. For a system of m qubits, the nested Uhrig dynamical decoupling (NUDD) sequence can efficiently suppress generic decoherence induced by system-environment interaction to order N using (N+1)^2m pulses. We prove that the NUDD sequence is universal, i.e., it can restore the coherence of m-qubit quantum system independent of the details of system-environment interaction. We also construct a general mapping between dynamical decoupling problems and discrete quantum walks in certain functional spaces.Comment: 4+ pages, 2 figure

With the development of humanities and social sciences, research collaboration becomes more and more important. This article studies collaboration phenomena of seventeen kinds of journals’ from 1995-2004 in china. According to statistical data, some characteristics are disclosed, and some tested explanations are given. This article makes a comparison of research collaboration between China and other country, and some differences are studied. A lot of differences of research collaboration among humanities sciences, social sciences and natural sciences are also pointed out

Stock loan with Automatic termination clause, cap and margin

This paper works out fair values of stock loan model with automatic termination clause, cap and margin. This stock loan is treated as a generalized perpetual American option with possibly negative interest rate and some constraints. Since it helps a bank to control the risk, the banks charge less service fees compared to stock loans without any constraints. The automatic termination clause, cap and margin are in fact a stop order set by the bank. Mathematically, it is a kind of optimal stopping problems arising from the pricing of financial products which is first revealed. We aim at establishing explicitly the value of such a loan and ranges of fair values of key parameters : this loan size, interest rate, cap, margin and fee for providing such a service and quantity of this automatic termination clause and relationships among these parameters as well as the optimal exercise times. We present numerical results and make analysis about the model parameters and how they impact on value of stock loan.Comment: 30 pages, 7 figure

Distributed quantum sensing enhanced by continuous-variable error correction

A distributed sensing protocol uses a network of local sensing nodes to estimate a global feature of the network, such as a weighted average of locally detectable parameters. In the noiseless case, continuous-variable (CV) multipartite entanglement shared by the nodes can improve the precision of parameter estimation relative to the precision attainable by a network without shared entanglement; for an entangled protocol, the root mean square estimation error scales like 1/M with the number M of sensing nodes, the so-called Heisenberg scaling, while for protocols without entanglement, the error scales like 1√M. However, in the presence of loss and other noise sources, although multipartite entanglement still has some advantages for sensing displacements and phases, the scaling of the precision with M is less favorable. In this paper, we show that using CV error correction codes can enhance the robustness of sensing protocols against imperfections and reinstate Heisenberg scaling up to moderate values of M. Furthermore, while previous distributed sensing protocols could measure only a single quadrature, we construct a protocol in which both quadratures can be sensed simultaneously. Our work demonstrates the value of CV error correction codes in realistic sensing scenarios
